Every IKO School and Instructor becomes certified through hard work, dedication, training courses, qualification criteria, and high safety standards. IKO Instructors are competent kiteboarders who have undergone intensive instructor training courses learning the International Kiteboarding Organization teaching methodology.

Kiteboard instructor training includes a curriculum of communication, safety, lesson planning, rescues, and people skills. Additionally, IKO instructors commit to ongoing training to stay current with changes in techniques and standards. You can contact us to check if it is valid for your IKO Instructor course. In the Netherlands there are 3 main organisations providing training courses.

All three provide a solid training and you can choose based on your goal of teaching. The IKO has the largest international use base, so if your intention is to travel and teach kiteboarding around the world, you will find the IKO Instructor certificate will give you the most opportunities.

After following a teaching package, you can obtain an IKO Certificate through us. Once you have mastered the basic skills, we can issue a certificate. An IKO certificate can be useful when you are on holiday and you want to rent kitesurfing equipment.

A center will always check whether your name appears in the IKO database. In this way they can see that you have indeed followed lessons and what your level is. If you ever want to have this updated to a higher level, we can arrange this for you. Would you like to see what is covered in the lessons?
