Mafia 2 can you run out of gas

I found that fixing the camera a few times in the start towards the circle helped the car go in the same 'tire tracks' the key is make it go near perfect circle so that it runs out of fuel and keeps going. Thanks for adding the details, this achievement is stupid, why the heck would they want you to drive miles. It has been fine ever since i saved it to my harddrive. I therefore think the glitch is just random and not related to top speed.
