He grows and collects the food so the Smurfs can eat all year long, including in winter. Natural Smurf wears brown overalls and a straw hat. He is in touch with nature and can talk to animals. He is usually sleeping even during the day.
He will sleep anywhere. Reporter Smurf conducts interviews for his newspaper. He walks around with a feather pen and a notepad ready to record a news story. He also wears a green visor on his head. Tailor Smurf makes clothes for the other Smurfs.
His hat has some needles stuck in it and he walks around with a tape measure around his neck. Dreamy Smurf is constantly daydreaming about adventures. He sits with his hands under his chin and looks into the sky. Snappy Smurfling was formally Snappy Smurf. His age was reversed. He can be short-tempered and has an impatient look on his face with his hands on his hips.
He wears a yellow shirt with a stormy cloud with lightning on it along with his white hat and pants. Wild Smurf is even more one with nature than Natural Smurf! Wild Smurf was born in the wild and was a relatively new addition to the smurf village.
He wears a hat crafted by leaves and a small triangular cloth to cover his body. The other Smurfs cannot understand him, but Wild Smurf can talk to animals. Slouchy Smurfling was formally Slouchy Smurf. He often slouches in position. He wears a white hat, a red shirt, and white pants, all of which are loose and slouch on his body.
His facial expression looks relaxed and laid back. Nat Smurfling was formally Natural Smurf. He maintains the same qualities as when he was Natural Smurf where he loves nature and can talk to animals. His clothes also shrunk with him and he still has a straw hat, brown overalls, and no shoes.
Sassette is one of the only other smurf females besides Smurfette. She is small and has red hair that she puts in braids. She wears a white hat and pink overalls. Similar to Smurfette, Sassette Smurfling was born bad but then changed to good. A stork brought Baby Smurf to the village. Baby Smurf has magic powers. The gender of Baby Smurf is unknown.
Along with Papa Smurf, Grandpa Smurf is one of the oldest Smurfs who returned to the village after a five-hundred-year absence. He wears glasses, a yellow hat, and yellow pants. He has a long white beard and has a cane to walk with. Grandpa Smurf sometimes clutches his back like he is in pain but remains cheerful and happy. As the resident alchemist of the village, Alchemist Smurf is constantly making chemical concoctions and magic potions. He wears a dark cloak with a moon on it and a hat with stars on it.
He is often carrying a flask or vial that contains a colorful sometimes fuming liquid. Architect Smurf designs the smurf houses in the village. Smurf Gretten. Grumpy bass. Clumsy Smurf. Bulky goods in warehouse. Greedy Smurf.
Gourmet gourmet. Smurf joke. The lower joker. Likewise, one wonders how many original Smurfs are there? Who made the Smurfs? In " Grouchy Makes A Splash ", where Grouchy learned how to swim, he was too scared to step into the water at first, but when Baby's life was in danger, he swam all the way to save him from Gargamel and Azrael.
Grouchy is fully devoted to the safety of Baby, Papa, Smurfette, and all of his fellow Smurfs, even if he doesn't show it. He even wept when Baby Smurf got sick in " Bookworm Smurf " and Papa Smurf was unable to cure him because Sassette made all books disappear by mistake. In the comic book adaption of Baby Smurf's origin story, Grouchy fled the village when the stork came to retrieve Baby remarking that he wouldn't let the stork take him because he loves Baby Smurf.
Later, a duck helps him and Baby onto a small island and Grouchy smiles at Baby while admitting he likes ducks. When Grouchy later in the story is losing all hope, Baby cheers him on and realizing that he can't keep Baby exposed to the elements, Grouchy returns to the village and in tears admits that he simply loves Baby too much to just hand him over to the stork. In the comic book adaption of " The Smurflings ", he met his match in Snappy Smurfling.
Grouchy was looking very disapprovingly at Snappy but before he could say anything Grouchy developed a soft spot for The Purple Smelly Hatchling in " Born Rotten ", despite disliking his smell as much as the others as well as being chased.
He was also the only Smurf the hatchling liked enough to be lead away from the village by. He shows this soft spot best by making his wish for the shooting star celebration that the "stinky little fellow" makes it home safely before smiling.

During their stay with Patrick and Grace Winslow , he tells Patrick that he finds the Smurf song truly annoying. He discloses to the plush toy that he uses his grouchiness to hide his true feelings. He makes it promise to remember the moment, as he was supposedly Grouchy for the rest of his life.
In the accompanying special feature The Smurfs: A Christmas Carol , Grouchy noticeably refuses to participate in the celebration of Christmas , so Papa Smurf whips up a formula that would help his little Smurf regain the Christmas spirit he had lost.
While under the influence of the formula, Grouchy is visited by three of his fellow Smurfs appearing as Smurfs of Christmas Past, Present, and Future.
Smurfette as the Smurf of Christmas Past showed Grouchy how happy he used to be about Christmas until he became disillusioned when all he ever got for a Christmas present was a Smurf hat instead of a hang glider.
